Geisha Evenings® in the heart of Higashi Chaya District
A privileged experience of Geisha performance and hospitality at Kaikaro, the largest teahouse in Kanazawa. The over 200 year old historic architecture is a designated preserved building of the city and holds Geisha parties or Ozashiki in Japanese for their regular customers.
We arrange a special private plans for visitors coming from overseas to experience such a dignified Geisha culture at this extraordinary venue of Kaikaro. Your special night will be accompanied by entertaining English commentary on the Geisha and teahouse culture by the landlady of Kaikaro, aka Lady Baba, which surely will make the whole experience even more interesting.

PERFORMANCE PLAN (from 2 people to 30 people)
A performance plan enables you to fully appreciate the geishas’ elegant song and dance performance, accompanied by English commentary from Lady Baba. As well as the sophisticated geisha performance, Lady Baba’s way of explaining the unique teahouse culture of Kanazawa in her own words has become increasingly popular with visitors.
Guests can try their hand at beating the taiko drum and play games with geishas, like at an authentic ozashiki party. Some of the comments we have received include: “It was the most enjoyable time in Japan” and “It feels as if we came to a dream world.”

Fixed price of 198,000 JPY for a group of 2 to 10 people
For a group of 11 people and over, an additional charge of 6,600 JPY per
person will be added to the standard price of 198,000 JPY.

PERFORMANCE WITH DINNER PLAN (from 4 people to 25 people)
A performance with dinner plan offers you the opportunity to enjoy a geisha performance along with the cuisine essential to true teahouse hospitality. Authentic Japanese cuisine making full use of seasonal ingredients from Kanazawa is served in local traditional craft dishes.
The traditional culture and crafts of the castle town of Kanazawa are concentrated in the hospitality in the teahouse, including in the room furnishings, the kimonos, obi belts and accessories worn by the geishas, and in the taiko drums and shamisen.
The major benefit of our entertainment is that you can experience these values using all five senses, rather than appreciating them at an art museum.
